Mel has joined the Shore Physio team after being a physiotherapist and research assistant to Geoff at his specialised clinic KneeCare for the past year.
Mel has an extensive background in exercise rehabilitation with a degree in physical education and a post graduate diploma in sports and exercise medicine, before qualifying as a physiotherapist.
Mel used to play rugby at a provincial level, however following a serious knee injury, she was forced to give up her rugby career and in turn had her rehabilitation through the KneeCare Programme. This gave her first-hand experiece which now guides her treatment for her patients. Mel is currently in the process of organising the safe return of her boat from Panama, which they are hopeful to have a team bring back in 2019. If not out enjoying the sunshine, you will find Mel in the gym working hard.
