Jo Sheehy

Jo Sheehy

Dip Phty., Reg Phty Acup., Member of NZSP

Jo has extensive experience working in private practice since graduating from AIT in 1988. She joined Shore Physiotherapy in 2000, and is now a senior and invaluable member of the team. Jo completed a postgraduate diploma in acupuncture in 1992, and combines this perfectly with her manual therapy skills.

David Cooper

David Cooper

BHSc (Physio), Member of NZSP

David studied at AUT, and since graduating has developed a strong sports physiotherapy background. He has experience working with rugby league and rugby union teams, and is currently the sole physiotherapy provider to the Run Auckland Series. Aside from sports David has a special interest in the management of osteoarthritis, and helped to develop and run a pilot study investigating the effect of specialised exercise for knee osteoarthritis sufferers. David is currently working towards his Masters degree, and in his spare time is a competitive runner and duathlete, recently representing New Zealand at the World Duathlon Championships.

Geoffrey Potts

Geoffrey Potts

Geoff has worked in a variety of private practices in the Auckland region specialising in musculoskeletal sports physiotherapy since graduating from AUT. He has several post graduate qualifications including a Masters degree, where he conducted original research investigating the rehabilitation of Achilles injuries. Geoff has an extensive background working with recreational and elite athletes. He spent several years travelling with the highly successful New Zealand Sevens Rugby Team, and currently works closely with New Zealand Hockey as part of his New Zealand Academy of Sport contract. Geoff also provides care to Takapuna Rugby and teaches both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Natalie Parlane

After graduating from AUT Natalie has joined Shore Physiotherapy with broad experience dealing in Rugby and Netball teams at representative levels. This has included recent work with the national South African U21 Netball team and Takapuna U21 Rugby team. She has a special interest in sports injuries and aims to complete post graduate studies in
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Natalie also competes in club Netball at a premier level.

Karine Coote

Karine has been working at Shore Physiotherapy since graduating from AUT. She has 5 years experience providing acute injury management and rehabilitation services to Takapuna Rugby, and also has experience at a representative North Harbour age group level. She also provides a mentoring and supervisory role to undergraduate physiotherapy volunteers at Takapuna Rugby. Karine has a special interest in exercise and sports performance and is part way through her postgraduate study at AUT working towards her clinical Masters.

Brydie Steele

Brydie Steele

PGD Musculoskeletal Physio, BHSc (Physio), Member of NZSP

Brydie similarly has been working at Shore Physiotherapy since graduating and has a strong background in sports physiotherapy, particularly with Rugby. She provides mentoring to physiotherapy students as part of her role as a Team physiotherapist and as a clinical educator, and also has physiotherapy experience at a representative North Harbour age group level. Brydie has completed her postgraduate musculoskeletal physiotherapy diploma, and is currently investigating the relationship between cardiovascular fitness and knee osteoarthritis as part of her Masters degree.
